Inspired Hot Tub & Swim Spa Installations

by | Jan 28, 2021

If you are like most of us, your vacation has turned into a staycation. But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Plenty of people are using this time to make improvements to their homes.

One of the more popular items is the hot tub. It’s the perfect way to relax after a long day. Perhaps you have been working from home. What better way to take a break than a lovely hot soak.

Here are our tips and tricks to optimize your backyard and create the perfect retreat. We have included photos and details of recent hot tub installations to inspire your design.

Patio, Recessed and Raised Decks

Rather than just having your hot tub sitting in the backyard, why not make it part of the entire landscape? You can recess it into the house or patio so it is more permanent.

To do this, first, consider how deep you would like the tub to be recessed. We recommend recessing it at least halfway. Spas that are level with the deck can make it difficult to enter.

You also need to keep in mind that you will need to be able to access the panel and leave enough space around it for servicing and maintenance. Check with your professional tub installer to make sure your structure is able to support the weight of the tub.

Build a Bench or Bar

Perhaps you want to build both. You may want to add extra seating around the top, for those who want to sit out and cool off. A bench or a bar also provides space for towels, cold drinks, clothes, deck shoes, music, or small portable lights or candles.

Incorporating Steps Into Your Design

You will need easy and safe access to and from the hot tub so why not incorporate them into your design. Esure the steps are wide and sturdy enough that people won’t miss them. Depending on the finish, make sure they have non-slip protection on them, as they can become extremely slippery when wet. They can also get a coating of ice in the winter.

Maximize Your Views

By finding the perfect space to install your hot tub, you can enjoy the hard work you have put into your yard, garden, or the view beyond. Keep that in mind when finding the perfect spot.

If you have a view of the city, of mountains, of the lake, or the great open sky. As you can see from the images below, we can install a hot tub almost anywhere!

Privacy

If your lot is new, consider planting a few trees, shrubs, or bushes to cover your hot tub space. If that isn’t possible, build a protective gazebo or matching covering around it.

It will not only provide protection but shelter you from inclement weather, like wind, snow, and rain. It can also include shelves, hooks for hanging items, windows, and even a mini-fridge.
